Introduction to Studying Multimedia Authoring Systems is almost over…

Recently we received an email from our professor that we should write about if we have some complaints and suggestions about studying MULTIMA. Well, on my opinion I think the level of the program is quite elementary, but I can say that only on the base of the courses that I had till now. However I think it’s not easy to elaborate a study program for students who are coming from different schools, different environment, different countries and last but not least with different knowledge skills.

So maybe in the future it would be smart to think about demanding some pre-knowledge for entering a specific course, so the students can start at least with one level higher than now.

For this course Introduction to Studying Multimedia Authoring Systems I think it has good basics for introduction to MULTIMA and that is the point of it, right?! The only bad thing, that was also mention on some others blogs is, that for creation of student portfolio the Blogger is not too convenient. I think it’s more appropriate for writing kind of a “diary”… So as you can see I create here more a diary about my life and studies in Vaasa than actual portfolio. However I really like this blog now and I hope I will continue with writing…

Language of instruction: English

On 23rd of March we had a meeting for the Project. Honestly we didn’t get really a lot of information about what we need to do. However I understood something like that: first we need to form a team of students, than decide which multimedia tools we know the best or what kind of tools are we capable to use in our “project” or maybe what we want to learn more, and than choose the topic. The next step is to write an email to professor, so he will know what we are going to do. I think that’s it. So I’m in the group with Lea and Frank. We decided to make kind of documentary movie about Erasmus students in Vaasa. So this is our starting plan, now I just need to send an email to professor to inform him about our team project. I hope it will be okay.

That’s all for now about this course.

Jenni's place

So I survive another magnificent weekend… first of all you should know that I have the best tutor ever – Jenni! She is also a tutor of Floriane and I think she also has three other students. Well anyway, she invited me and Lea and Floriane to spent two days at her home in Ylistaro (~50 kilometers from Vaasa to the southeast) – kind of a “girls weekend”. After the first real home made dinner since 2 months (you can imagine how good that feels), we had a chance to try snowmobile drive with her boyfriend. For all three this was a first experience with that and it was amazing. I surprised myself, because usually I’m scared of speed, but this time I was really brave, even our driver (Jenni’s boyfriend – I’m sorry but I don’t know his name) was surprised that we were enjoying so much – he had to drive really fast to satisfy us. Hehe. After we took a nice sauna at her mom’s house (someday I would like to have sauna at my house – it’s so relaxing) and started to taste our home made sangria… later we spent a really good night at Seinäjoki (~25 kilometers from Ylistaro) in the nightclub owned of the same person who has the Lux in Helsinki. Next day – shopping!!! An hour drive away is a really “cheap” shopping center (we are in Finland – nothing is cheap)… You can imagine what happens if four girls go for shopping… I think I don’t need to explain! And for great finale, Jenni’s mom did our haircuts… So now I have a little bit shorter hair and a new color (still dark blond)!

Thank you Jenni!! You are the best!
